Cleveland's New Taxi Stand Begins Construction Phase 1

Cleveland, OH - Beginning Monday, July 30th, the new taxi stand at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (CLE) will begin operations out of the southern end of the baggage claim level near Carousel 11, as a program that has been in the planning for over a year finally takes-off.

"It's all about customer service," says Airport Director Ricky Smith. "Because then airport is the first impression passengers have of our city it is imperative that the first impression be as positive as possible. Our new taxi queue is totally under cover with pick-up right at the door, which is adjacent to a new passenger lounge."

As the first step of a multi-faceted revamping of the taxi service, later this year the taxis operating out of CLE will sport a new paint scheme to identify them as airport service-oriented. Drivers in uniform will be trained not only in wayfinding, but customer service, and hospitality to ensure visitors to Cleveland begin their stay with the best impression our City has to offer.
