AKRON, Ohio - A total of 84 players have qualified for and committed to the World Golf Championships-Bridgestone Invitational, and to accommodate the field, which is larger than officials typically see at the event, tee times for the first and second rounds had to be altered.
Rather than a two-tee start from 11:30 a.m. through 1 p.m., players will now tee off of both tees in a morning and afternoon wave. The revised tee times for Thursday and Friday are 8:30-9:36 a.m. and 12:15-1:21 p.m. Gates will now open at 7:30 a.m., 90 minutes earlier than originally scheduled.
Saturday and Sunday tee times will be moved up 30 minutes to approximately 7:30 a.m. Gates will open to patrons 30 minutes earlier on Saturday and Sunday at 7:00 a.m.
Television times for the Bridgestone Invitational, which will be broadcast in more than 140 countries, are as follows: Aug. 2-3, 2-6 p.m., GOLF CHANNEL; Aug. 4-5, 1-6 p.m. CBS.
