Twins 1, Indians 0

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - The Minnesota Twins are one of baseball's hottest teams. Since July 25th they've picked up 5 games on Detroit and Cleveland in the American League Central Division race.

Minnesota is now just 4-and-a-half games back of first-place Cleveland after a 1-0 win over the Indians.

Scott Baker led the way by allowing just 4 hits in 8 innings of work. He struck out 4 and walked 2 as he upped his record to 6-and-4. He retired 19 of the last 22 batters he faced. Joe Nathan came on for the save and earned his 26th in 28 chances.

Cleveland's Fausto Carmono was the hard-luck loser as he allowed 5 hits in 7 innings. The game's lone score came in the fourth when Alexi Casilla doubled home a run.
