Simple Device Helps Authorities Track Sex Offenders

CLEVELAND - A new device is disrupting the lives of more than 1,000 sex offenders in 22 states, including many in northeast Ohio, 19/43 News reported.

Authorities are using a new product called "The Box" to track sex offenders. Despite the fact the it's a very simple device, "The Box" has proven to be effective.

A criminal is required to carry around the four-pound brick, along with a wireless ankle bracelet, enabling police to track his or her every move.

A buzzer even goes off if a convicted predator enters a restricted zone, like a school.
