Browns to Flip Coin to Decide Starting QB for Preseason Opener

CLEVELAND (AP) - With Cleveland's quarterback derby a dead heat, Browns coach Romeo Crennel is flipping a coin to decide who starts tomorrow's exhibition game.

He says that's the fairest way to choose whether it'll be Charlie Frye or Derek Anderson when the Browns take to the field against Kansas City.

Crennel would like to name his starting quarterback for the September 9th season opener against Pittsburgh as soon as possible. So this week's test against the Chiefs will allow either Frye or Anderson to gain an edge.

But if neither shines while splitting the snaps, Brady Quinn could make up some ground. The rookie quarterback finally got to training camp this week after an 11-day contract holdout.
