Pilot Rescued After Homemade Helicopter Crashes Into River

TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) - Authorities say a homemade, one-seat helicopter crashed into the Maumee River in Toledo this afternoon and the pilot has been pulled from the water uninjured.

The crash happened about 3 p.m. near the Interstate 75 bridge.

The cause of the crash isn't known.

Toledo Fire Department water rescue crews and the U.S. Coast Guard were called out to rescue the pilot.
