Congresswoman's Husband Found Guilty Of DUI

SHAKER HEIGHTS, Ohio (AP) - The husband of U.S. Rep. Stephanie Tubbs Jones was found guilty Wednesday of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Mervyn L. Jones pleaded no contest, but the Shaker Heights Municipal Court ordered him to pay a $600 fine and suspended his license for one year.

Jones, 51, refused to take a blood-alcohol level test and initially pleaded innocent, City Prosecutor William T. Doyle said.

Tubbs Jones declined to comment after the arrest Feb. 16, calling the incident a "personal matter."
