Avon Lake, OH - A body has been recovered from the water of Lake Erie. Avon Lake police got a call from swimmers at Miller Road Park beach about a possible body floating in the water around 8 pm Thursday night.
Avon Lake fire department responded and began searching the area. They did not discover anything in their initial search. As the night went along, the coast guard also assisted in the search along with police.
At 12:01 am Friday, the body of a 24 year old white male was located. Police say it appears this is a drowning. The victim is 23 year old Kyle Krkoff of North Ridgeville. He rode his bike to Miller Road Beach Park, about a 10 mile ride. Krkoff left a note for his parents saying he was going swimming and would be back for dinner.
Nobody saw him drown.
