The Nanny Police

Well here they come again, the Public health crusaders, the nanny police.

Fresh from their victory in banning trans fats they are now taking aim at the breast and the bottle.  The health and hospitals corporation which runs 11 hospitals in New York City has ban the decades old practice of handing out free formula samples to new mothers.

City health officials say they are going to launch a big public campaign to promote breast feeding and discourage the use of formula because breast feeding is healthier. And that means it's only a matter of time before mothers who can't breast feed or don't want to will find themselves labeled as bad mothers. It's happening in New York, but that means it won't be long before it happens here. This is surely an issue the Cleveland Clinic won't be able to resist.
