Elderly Man Dies When Car is Trapped in Floodwaters

FINDLAY, Ohio (AP) - This week's flooding is blamed for a second death in northern Ohio.

The Hancock County Sheriff's Office says a 92-year-old man had trouble to getting to safety yesterday afternoon after his car became trapped in floodwaters on a road 6 miles west of Findlay. Deputies say the road had been closed off.

Medics tried to resuscitate the man after he was pulled from the water, but he was pronounced dead at a Findlay hospital.

Earlier in the week, a man in Mansfield died in a fire after flood water knocked over a gas can in an apartment garage and the vapors reached the pilot light on a water heater.
