Indians Recall Left-Hander Laffey

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - The Cleveland Indians recalled left-hander Aaron Laffey from Triple-A Buffalo last night after their 2-1 loss to the Kansas City Royals.

Laffey will start today for the Indians, who because of off days haven't needed a fifth starter since Laffey was sent down August 9th.

The team optioned rookie right-hander Edward Mujica to their top farm club to make room on the roster for Laffey.

Laffey was the International League Pitcher of the Week, going 2-0 with a 1.93 ERA in his past two starts. He also went 1-1 with a 5.73 ERA in two starts for Cleveland earlier this month.
