Sinkhole Reported On W.25th Street

Cleveland, OH - Cleveland police and the Cleveland Water Department responded to a five foot deep unknown length sinkhole on Carroll Avenue near West 25th Street.

The hole is big enough that it is causing a saftey concern for people attending the Open Air Market Festival on that street.

Police have called for two steel plates to cover up the sinkhole until it can be repaired Monday morning.

According to the Cleveland Water Department, they really do not know at this time what caused the sinkhole, other then to say that it was not caused by a water main break.

Right now, Cleveland Police and the Water Department are standing by to make sure nobody falls in or injures themselves at the scene until those steel plates arrive
