Cleveland Train Overshoots Station, Hits Bumper

CLEVELAND (AP) - Inspectors are trying to figure out why a Cleveland transit train overshot its last stop today and hit a rubber bumper at the end of the tracks.

Regional Transit Authority spokesman Chad Self says some passengers may have been jarred at 7:30 this morning when the train came to an abrupt halt at the downtown Tower City station. But he says no injuries were reported and the train wasn't hurt. He says the bumper did what it's designed to do.

The transit agency is investigating if the train operator made a mistake or there was a mechanical problem.
