Kent State Allows WVU To Talk To Coach Heath

KENT, Ohio (AP) - Kent State University has given West Virginia University permission to talk to basketball coach Stan Heath about the vacant Mountaineer coaching job.

Will Roleson, sports information director at Kent State, confirmed that permission had been granted to WVU.

On Tuesday the University of Arkansas interviewed Heath for its vacant coaching job to replace Nolan Richardson.

Heath, 36, led the Golden Flashes to the final eight teams in this year's NCAA basketball tournament.

West Virginia coach Gale Catlett retired Feb. 14 after 24 seasons.
