84-Year-Old Woman's Body Found Stuffed In Car Trunk

MAYFIELD HEIGHTS, Ohio (AP) - An 84-year-old woman's body was found stuffed in the trunk of a car Wednesday at the same apartment complex where a man killed his girlfriend last year and tried to dispose of her body in acid.

Cuyahoga County Coroner Elizabeth Balraj said Ruth Stanton died of stab wounds to her neck and back. Stanton lived alone on the third floor of the Gates Mills Towers high-rise (pictured, right).

No motive has been determined, police Lt. John O'Donnell said.

Police would not say how she was killed.

Brian Carr, the city's law director, said the woman had several relatives who lived across the street at a nursing home.

"Each day a daughter or an aunt came over to bring her lunch," Carr said. "She had no enemies."

Last June, Nancy Pimentel, 26, was murdered at Gates Mills Towers. Her boyfriend, Gerald Lee Thompson, 37, was convicted of aggravated murder in February.

Thompson dismembered Pimentel's body and put it in an acid-filled garbage can on their apartment balcony.
