CHARDON, Ohio – The man who is being called the "Six Flags Fondler" had his day in court on Thursday, 19/43 News reported.
Karl Atherton pleaded guilty to touching two girls -- ages 11 and 12 -- last July while in the wave pool at Six Flags in Aurora. Atherton had a season pass to the amusement park.
On Thursday, one of the girls and her parents got to watch as the judge sentenced Atherton to prison for two years.
"I know I was extremely wrong, and I ask for their forgiveness," Atherton said when he addressed the court. "I don't expect it, but I do ask for it."
"As soon as he got caught, he found god, and in my opinion, I'd find the Easter Bunny if I thought it would save me from prison," Irene Fox, the mother of one of the victims, said.
