Local Police Trying To Solve First Murder In 3 Years

AKRON, Ohio - A killer is on the run in Copley Township as police there try to solve their first murder mystery in three years, 19/43 News reported.

Steven Lindsey's body was found over the weekend in a van parked outside of a Red Roof Inn.

Police in Copley, who have not had a murder to investigate for more than three years, said that they have very little to go on because they have no witnesses or reports of any suspicious behavior.

Friends of the victim, including his best friend Jason Lytle, said that Lindsey was a kind person.

"He was like a brother to me," Lytle said. "I don't know of anyone who would have tried to hurt him."

The Summit County Coroner's office is running tests to find the exact cause of Lindsey's death. Police said that it looks like a single gunshot killed him.

The Copley Township Police Department is encouraging anyone who saw anything at the Red Roof Inn on Saturday at approximately 7 p.m. or who saw Lindsey at any time on Saturday to call their headquarters.
