Clevelanders' Film Selected To Have Shown At Cannes Festival

CLEVELAND – A set of filmmaking brothers from Cleveland have had their movie formally selected to have shown at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival in France, Action News reported.

Joe and Anthony Russo, from the Murray Hill section of Cleveland, wrote and directed their first Hollywood film, titled "Welcome to Collinwood." Much of the motion picture was shot on location in Cleveland.

On Monday, the brothers (pictured, above) found out that their film was going to run as the closing night picture at Cannes on May 24, which is an additional distinction beyond the honor of simply having their film shown.

The festival runs from May 16 through May 26.

The movie stars George Clooney and William H. Macy, and features hundreds of extras from the Greater Cleveland area.
