Browns Sign Defensive Tackle To 1-Year Deal

CLEVELAND (AP) - The Cleveland Browns signed defensive tackle Marcus Spriggs to a one-year contract Wednesday.

Financial terms were not announced.

The 25-year-old Spriggs did not play last season because of a broken forearm. He participated in the Browns' minicamp last week.

Spriggs played in 15 games as a backup in 1999 and 2000, finishing with 27 tackles and two sacks.

Also, Cleveland waived defensive back Eddie Canonico, a rookie free agent who was signed April 26.
