Man Killed In Cargill Salt Plant Accident

AKRON, Ohio (AP) - A Cargill Salt plant employee was killed early Thursday when he was trapped in a packaging machine, police said.

The accident that killed Kenneth Moyer, 50, occurred about 3 a.m., said police Capt. Elizabeth Daugherty.

The death was under investigation by police and the Summit County medical examiner, but it appeared to be an accident, Daugherty said.

Company officials could not be reached for comment. A message requesting comment was left at company offices.

Cargill Salt is a division of the Cargill international food conglomerate.
