High School Student Arrested In Road Rage Rape

AKRON, Ohio (AP) - A high school student has been arrested and charged with taking part in an attack on a woman in a road rage confrontation.

Summit County sheriff's deputies said Thursday that Jordan A. Rollins, 17, was one of four young men involved in the assault and rape of a 24-year-old Coventry Township woman on April 24. The woman was driving home at 2 a.m. with her 6-week-old baby.

Rollins, a Coventry High School junior, has been charged with delinquency rape, a first-degree felony. He had his initial appearance Thursday in Summit County Juvenile Court, and was being held in the county's juvenile detention center.

Sheriff's Capt. Larry Momchilov said Rollins has been unwilling to talk to detectives, who hope he will provide them with information about the three others the victim says took part in the assault.

Sheriff's officials and prosecutors said they will request that Rollins' case be sent to adult court.
