Man In Hospital After House Explosion

MENTOR, Ohio (AP) - A house was leveled in an explosion in Mentor on Wednesday morning, sending one man to the hospital.

Fire Deputy Chief Tony Sedmak said that the 8:45 a.m. explosion left only a couple of the interior walls standing at the ranch-style home.

The male victim, who was the sole occupant of the home, was flown by LifeFlight to Cleveland MetroHealth Medical Center's burn unit. The hospital has not yet released the victim's name or condition.

Mentor is about 23 miles east of Cleveland.
