Man Who Cut Off Puppy Tails Sentenced To Jail

BATAVIA, Ohio (AP) - A man who cut the tails off four puppies because their wagging tails were knocking things off tables has been sentenced to a month in jail and was fined $300.

George Goodin, 54, of Stonelick Township, east of Cincinnati, was convicted of animal cruelty and failing to obtain a dog license. He was sentenced Tuesday in Clermont County Municipal Court.

Goodin also was ordered to do 30 hours of community service and isn't allowed to have any pets for four years.

All of the Labrador mix puppies have found new homes.
