PARMA, Ohio (AP) - There's a police officer in Parma who you might want to avoid on the highway, and not because of radar.
Parma Police Department Lt. Kim Cornachio has had 11 traffic accidents in 19 years on the force, including at least eight that were his fault.
It turns out that his shift commander duties include directing traffic patrols in Cleveland's biggest suburb. His driving record was detailed through a search of public records conducted by The (Cleveland) Plain Dealer.
A police accident review board investigated 10 of his 11 accidents and found him at fault in eight. Two happened during police emergencies.
The Parma safety director describes Cornachio as "aggressive" and said that such officers are more likely to get into accidents.
