Prosecutors Seek Life Sentence For Man Accused Of Repeat Sex Offenses

AKRON, Ohio (AP) - The Summit County Prosecutor will seek a life sentence for an Akron man accused of repeatedly victimizing young girls.

Prosecutor Sherri Bevan Walsh said that she will try to convict 35-year-old Cedric J. McAdory of a repeat sex offense.

Walsh said that she chose to pursue a life sentence because it's the only way to stop McAdory's predatory conduct.

This is the first time that this approach has been tried in Summit County.

If McAdory is classified as a sexually violent predator -- the strongest label for a sex offender in Ohio -- he will be sentenced to life in prison without parole.

McAdory has pleaded guilty to sex offenses four times in Summit County over the past decade.

He served his full sentence of four years on the last offense and was released in January. Five months later, he was accused of a sex offense again.
