Onion Buns Recalled Because Of Undeclared Eggs

WASHINGTON (AP) - Sara Lee Bakery Group is recalling a batch of its Earth Grains Onion Buns because they contain eggs not listed on the label, posing a risk of serious or life-threatening reactions in people allergic to eggs.

Recalled are Earth Grains Onion Buns marked for purchase between June 15 and June 28. To check that date, look for the statements "best if purchased by," "good thru" or "purchase by" on the bags.

The recalled buns were sold in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, West Virginia and Wisconsin.

The mislabeling was discovered during a Food and Drug Administration inspection.

Consumers may return recalled buns to their place of purchase for a refund, or call (800) 889-3556.
