Conference Has Goal Of Sparking Black Entrepreneurship

CLEVELAND (AP) - The organizer of a conference that started on Thursday in Cleveland said that he hopes the event will teach black entrepreneurs how to work together to improve their businesses.

At least 2,000 are expected to attend the four-day Power Networking Conference.

Conference organizer George Fraser said that black people have a lot to gain by networking with each other.

Fraser said that talented black people, black organizations and black churches need to leverage their resources more effectively.

Fraser is an author and motivational speaker. Part of his mission is to create a hall of fame and a museum to recognize accomplishments of black business people.

The first induction ceremony will be held during the conference. The inductees include Berry Gordy and Oprah Winfrey.
