Day Care Owner Accused Of Videotaping Children In Bathrooms Indicted

AKRON, Ohio (AP) - A day care center owner accused of having a boy videotape a girl changing clothes was indicted Thursday on child endangering and other charges.

David L. Corsi, 54, owner of K D Day Care & Preschool in Northfield Center Township, is accused of having the child videotape the girl through a hole in a bathroom ceiling tile last year. He also is accused of allowing other boys in day care to view the tape.

All the bathrooms and the shower in the day care center had holes in ceiling tiles that appeared positioned to view the toilet and shower, Summit County Prosecutor Sherri Bevan Walsh said Thursday.

Corsi, 54, of Malvern, also is accused of showing a boy at the day care center a nude photograph sometime in the last 2½ years.

A Summit County grand jury indicted Corsi (pictured, above) on felony and misdemeanor counts of child endangering; felony counts of voyeurism and illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material; and disseminating matter harmful to juveniles, a misdemeanor.

If convicted of all the felony charges, Corsi would face up to 17 years in prison.

His attorney, James Burdon, has described Corsi as a man of exemplary character who has the support and confidence of his staff and customers.

The center, which can serve as many as 100 children ranging from infants to preteens, opened in 1996.
