Man Drowns At Euclid Beach Park

CLEVELAND (AP) - A 20-year-old man drowned on Sunday night in Lake Erie about 60 feet from shore.

Terrell Burrage, of Cleveland, went under in 7 feet of water at Euclid Beach Park about 8 p.m. while swimming with friends.

Burrage went out to retrieve a football and was seen bobbing up and down.

"The one friend just said it appeared he was struggling to swim. They saw him flailing," assistant fire chief Ed Norman said.

Burrage was underwater for about 45 minutes before a diver from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources found him, Norman said.

He taken to Euclid Hospital and later pronounced dead, police spokeswoman Jacqueline Lewis said.
