Lieberman Helps Net $20,000 For Ohio Gubernatorial Candidate

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - U.S. Sen. Joe Lieberman was in Columbus on Monday morning to help Democratic candidate for governor Tim Hagan (pictured, right) raise money for his campaign.

Lieberman -- the Democratic candidate for vice president two years ago -- helped Hagan gain about $20,000. He told about 100 people at the breakfast that it's time to end the Republicans' 12-year grip on the governor's office.

Hagan also plans a fund-raiser next month with Rosie O'Donnell and one in August with the cast of "Star Trek: Voyager," which starred his wife, Kate Mulgrew.

According to campaign finance reports, Ohio Gov. Bob Taft has raised at least 15 times what Hagan has raised thus far.
