Bond Set For Mother Who Left Toddler In Hot Car

ROCKY RIVER, Ohio – The mother who is accused of leaving her toddler in a hot car while she went shopping at The Gap was in court on Tuesday morning, Action News reported.

Tenisia Garner appeared before a judge via closed circuit TV in Rocky River. She faces several charges. Bond was set at a total of $17,000.

The incident happened at the Promenade Shopping Center in Westlake over the weekend. Someone walking by noticed the sweating 2-year-old and called the police, who got him out.

Police said that the toddler's mother was possibly shoplifting in The Gap.

Meanwhile, the couple accused of leaving their baby in a car at a Lakewood shopping plaza said that they are not guilty.

Lauretta Karafilaj and her husband Arjan entered that plea in their first court appearance on Monday. They face child-endangering charges for leaving their toddler son in their car while they shopped at Marc's grocery store.

Police found the boy in an unconscious state, but they were able to revive him.

The couple's pretrial court date is set for Aug. 15.
