COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - Former Ohio State center Dave Sorenson, who helped the Buckeyes reach the Final Four in 1968, has died. He was 54.
Sorenson died of cancer Tuesday in his hometown of Findlay.
He started on the Buckeyes' 1968 Big Ten championship team, and his game-winning basket against Kentucky sent Ohio State to the Final Four.
Sorenson led Ohio State in scoring and rebounding as a junior and senior. He was twice selected to the all-Big Ten Conference team.
He scored 1,622 points and ranks eighth all-time at Ohio State. He also grabbed 761 career rebounds and ranks seventh.
