Police Hunt For Man Selling Fake Buddy Badges

EAST CLEVELAND, Ohio - Showing a fake buddy badge is one way to get out of a bind with police, but the badges are illegal, and now the hunt is on for a man who has been selling them for $250, Action News reported.

The badges are replicas of the badge of a popular policewoman and could help you get out of minor trouble if shown to police in East Cleveland. The officers usually give them to family members and friends.

Police Chief Patricia Lane said that she knows who the seller is, but she wouldn't give out his name.

The Cuyahoga County Prosecutor's Office said that it would determine if the seller of the badges is committing a crime or not.
