CANTON, Ohio (AP) - A telephone signal technician said that he became lost and drove onto restricted Timken Company property in Canton. That wasn't enough of an excuse to avoid a trespassing conviction.
Abdiwahab Madhobe is from Arlington, Texas. He must pay $100 plus court costs and complete 100 hours of community service. Canton Municipal Court Judge Richard Kubilus suspended a 30-day jail sentence if Madhobe completes the community service and maintains good behavior for two years.
Madhobe said he believes that his arrest was influenced by security concerns after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.
