GARFIELD HEIGHTS, Ohio – A man working at the Mills Creek Tunnel Sewer Project survived a 240-foot drop on Tuesday night, Action News reported.
The 22-year-old worker, whose name has not been released, got trapped between a steel beam and a piece of machinery 240 feet below the surface.
He eventually freed himself and emergency crews went down to help take him to safety.
"They had him back-boarded and all the other precautions you would take for someone who would be injured," Garfield Heights Fire Department spokesman Tim Conroy said. "He was talking, however, and he seemed to be fine."
