AKRON, Ohio (AP) - A 31-year-old Seattle man drowned in Summit Lake while swimming with his brother Sunday, police said.
Bao Luu and his 18-year-old brother, Ut Luu, also of Seattle, dived into the lake Sunday morning, and Bao Luu did not surface, Akron police said.
An Akron officer went in after the man but was hampered by the murky water. Akron Fire Department divers then pulled Bao Luu from lake, but he was unresponsive. He was pronounced dead at Akron General Medical Center.
The Akron Beacon Journalreported the man was believed to be in town for a wedding.
Summit Lake has no lifeguards and is not a popular swimming hole, said Akron police Lt. Sylvia Trundle. The water is fairly calm, with no currents or undertow, she said.
