Slain Wife Of Former Officer Buried

BURTON, Ohio (AP) - Friends and family of 27-year-old Elizabeth Harton buried her on Wednesday. Harton was found slain in her home west of Columbus early Friday.

She was buried in the Geauga County town of Burton.

Hermando "Cliff" Harton (pictured, above) is accused of killing his wife during a morning of rage that ended in a standoff with State Highway Patrol troopers on Interstate 71 north of Mansfield.

He was still in critical condition at MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland.

Officers in the town said that Elizabeth -- who was training to be a Columbus police officer -- received a partial police funeral because she was only a cadet.
