Frito-Lay Recalls Corn Chips

PLANO, Texas (AP) - Frito-Lay announced Thursday it was voluntarily recalling thousands of bags of Fritos Original Flavored Corn Chips because the lot included some barbecue-flavored chips that could cause an allergic reaction in some people.

Of the 8,640 bags, 1,080 were marked as Fritos Original that contain barbecue flavoring. People allergic to soy can develop a serious or life-threatening reaction if they eat the flavoring, the company said.

The company said the 2.25-ounce bags were distributed most to vending machines in Arkansas, Alabama, Georgia, southern Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Mississippi, Ohio, Tennessee and West Virginia.

They have a freshness date of Sept. 10. The code under that date is 5342186293.
