Cleveland, OH - A police chase on Cleveland's Eastside ends in gunfire.
The officer-involved shooting happened on MLK just before 10AM Wednesday morning.
The suspect - identified as Gatha Dye III - was driving a stolen Chevy HHR when he refused to stop for officers and crashed into a pole on MLK.
Dye then got out of the vehicle and fled on foot.
During the foot chase, the 21-year-old turned towards police with a 380 Cobra automatic - prompting police to open fire.
He was shot twice in the side and once in the right arm.
He was taken to Metro and is listed in critical condition this hour.
There was also a 17-year-old female in the car but she bailed out of the vehicle after the accident.
She is now in police custody.
19 Action News has learned Dye already has two convictions as an adult for receiving stolen property plus another for robbery.
