Doss, Nickey Voted Buckeye Captains

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - Senior safeties Mike Doss and Donnie Nickey have been selected by their teammates as captains for the 2002 season.

An offensive captain will be chosen on a game-to-game basis, coach Jim Tressel said. Starting quarterback Craig Krenzel will fill that role when the Buckeyes open their season Saturday against Texas Tech at Ohio Stadium in the Pigskin Classic.

Doss and Nickey were selected on Monday.

Doss is a two-time All-American at strong safety from Canton. Nickey is a free safety from Plain City.
