Ohio Emergency Shelter Moves For Wedding

VANDALIA, Ohio (AP) - An Ohio American Red Cross chapter has relocated its emergency blackout shelter so a Saturday wedding reception won't have to be moved.

Dayton Red Cross official Carolyn Burns says she didn't have the heart to cause more stress for the bride whose reception is scheduled at the Masonic Temple in Dayton.

That's where the Red Cross had been offering food, showers and a place to recharge cell phones for people without electricity and in some cases water because of Sunday's wind storm.

Burns says the shelter reopened Thursday at a building behind a church in suburban Vandalia.

The Red Cross is searching for an additional site in downtown Dayton site to serve meals.

About 74,000 Dayton Power & Light customers were still in the dark Friday morning.
