Cleveland Teen Admits Bringing Home Gun Used In Sister's Death

Cleveland, OH - A 14-year-old Cleveland boy has admitted bringing home a gun that his younger brother fired, killing their 11-year-old sister.

Terez Avery made the admission Thursday in pleading guilty to a charge of reckless homicide in Cuyahoga County Juvenile Court. He'll be sentenced Nov. 13.

Avery has been under house arrest since the shooting in April and could be sent to juvenile detention until his 21st birthday.

Police say Andrea Williams was shot at home by a 10-year-old brother who pulled a .22 caliber revolver from a closet. The firearm discharged, and the girl was shot.

Avery told police he found the gun and a rifle behind an abandoned home. Police recovered both weapons. The younger brother wasn't charged.
