Serial Sunk: Bold Burglar Popped By Police

Cleveland, OH - Police have arrested the suspect wanted in a string of breaking and enterings and burglaries which have plagued the downtown and midtown corridor neighborhoods of the city.

Cleveland Police and agents from the U.S. Marshals Service Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested 36-year old Burl A. Dillon Thursday afternoon at his sister's Westside home. Detectives instrumental in identifying Dillon were contacted by his sister who negotiated his surrender.

Dillon was identified through DNA and fingerprint evidence left at several crime scenes and was profiled in the media earlier this week.

A crime analysis of the Third District identified a surge in breaking and enterings and burglaries. Detectives noticed significant similarities in a number of the crimes suggesting that the same person or group was responsible for the offenses.

Detectives will question Dillon about his possible involvement in dozens of other area thefts.

Dillon is being held in Cleveland City Jail. He has not been formally charged.
