Layoffs: 150 Chrysler Employees Temporarily Laid Off From Twinsburg Plant

Twinsburg, OH - Developing news out of the Twinsburg Chrysler Stamping Plant this afternoon.

150 employees have been temporarily laid off due to a lost shift at the Windsor Assembly Plant - which makes Chrysler Minivans and VW vans - in Canada.

One-third of the stamped parts that go to Canada are made locally at the Twinsburg plant.

The lost shift at the Windsor plant will affect Twinsburg workers short-term but long-term, the planned idling of a plant in St. Louis happens at the end of the month.

19 Action News Reporter Brian Duffy has learned the 150 temporary layoffs could turn into indefinite layoffs due to the plant shutdown in St. Louis.

15% of the product produced in Twinsburg is shipped to St. Louis.

Also, a plant in Newark slated to close in July may shut down sooner and that will once again affect the Twinsburg plant.
