Bailiff Bust: Officer Of the Court Arrested After Verbal, Physical Altercation

Parma Heights, OH - The bailiff of a Cuyahoga County Judge has been arrested after a verbal and physical spat outside his Parma Heights home.

Police say two Parma Heights City Service workers were out in front of John Anthony's home picking up recyclables when a confrontation ensued Tuesday morning.

Threats were allegedly made against the city service workers so they called the cops.

Once police arrived on scene, there was a verbal and physical confrontation between Anthony and the officers.

Cuyahoga County Court says Anthony appeared in court on Wednesday and has been charged with assaulting a peace officer, obstructing official business, resisting arrest and menacing.

He pleaded not guilty and his bond was set at $2,500.

John Anthony works as the bailiff for Judge John D. Sutula.
