AKRON, Ohio (AP) - A judge convicted an Akron mother of child endangering for forcing her 11-year-old son to buy crack for her.
Judge Elinore Marsh Stormer told 30-year-old Danyle Fowler that what she did was appalling and that she needs to pull herself together.
Fowler faces up to six months in jail when she is sentenced on Oct. 21 for the first-degree misdemeanor.
Police and prosecutors said that Fowler gave her son an envelope filled with money and told him to go to a nearby street corner to buy her some crack. They said that she threatened to beat him if he didn't bring back the drugs.
The sixth-grader -- currently in a foster home -- testified on Monday that he did as his mother told him.
