Underfed Horses Found At Northern Ohio Farm

WAKEMAN, Ohio (AP) - Forty-three underfed and hurt horses have been found at a farm in Wakeman.

Huron County Humane Officer Mitch Witherell found the horses. He said that they were thin and not being cared for properly. The face of one of the horses was covered with blood.

A man who was watching the horses said that he was taking care of them for the owners of the property, who have moved out of state.

He said that the owners didn't give him money to feed the horses, so he had been putting them to pasture to eat for more than a month.

The man has been ordered to get help for the horses.
