Couch Named AFC's Top Player

BEREA, Ohio (AP) - Browns quarterback Tim Couch was named the AFC'S offensive player of the week after throwing for 326 yards and three touchdowns in last Sunday's win at Tennessee.

Couch was making his season debut after missing the first two games with a sore right elbow. But he looked fully recovered in going 36-for-50 and rallying the Browns to a 31-28 victory.

Cleveland trailed by 14 points in the fourth quarter before Couch brought the Browns back by throwing two TD passes in the final minutes of regulation.

Couch is the first Browns QB to earn player of the week honors since Vinny Testaverde in 1993.
