CLEVELAND (AP) - It's the end of the line for Cleveland's Free Times.
The 10-year-old free weekly newspaper was shut down on Wednesday by Village Voice Media, the national group that owns it.
The Cleveland Scene, the city's other free weekly, will take over some of the staff and assets of its former competitor.
NT Media, which owns the Scene, closed its weekly paper in Los Angles and handed over assets to the Village Voice paper operating there.
The Free Times published its tenth anniversary issue just last week.
Its editor promised 10 more years of investigative journalism.
A spokesperson from Village Voice confirmed that the paper would shut down, but would not elaborate other than to say that it was a good "business deal."
