Cavaliers Trim Roster By Waiving 2 Players

CLEVELAND (AP) - The Cleveland Cavaliers waived forward Matt Barnes and center Ike Nwankwo on Friday before their exhibition game against the Utah Jazz.

Barnes was the 46th overall pick in this year's draft. The Cavs acquired him from the Memphis Grizzlies along with guard Nick Anderson in the Wesley Person trade.

Barnes scored just two points in 16 minutes in two preseason games with the Cavs.

Nwankwo was signed as a free agent on Sept. 30.
